Out hunting with her father when she was 15, they were attacked by yellow legs. Her father was killed and so would she have been if not for the intervention of a kindly white woman.
For the next 2 years she was raised / held by the white woman and her husband.
Whilst She was kind, He did not like the idea of Neyn being there and often abused her physically and taunted her daily.
During one of his beatings Neyn took his knife and opened his stomach like a deers.
She ran for the Mesa and hid.
Over the weeks she made her way back home to Bear River and rejoined the clan
